Meeting Agenda for 2012

All interested parties are invited to attend any of our meetings; it is
not necessary to be a member of the Herb Society.  Please call
Louisa at 724-668-8808 for more information.

January 20: Planning session for the year.  6 p.m., Saltsburg
Borough Building

February 10: The Herb Society of Historic Saltsburg will present a
program open to the public at 6 p.m. on Friday, February 10, at the
Saltsburg Borough Building, 320 Point Street, Saltsburg.  
Program
: Local apiarist (that means beekeeper to us common
folk) Jerry Repasky of Apollo will give a presentation on
beekeeping, honey, and colony collapse disorder.  Jerry will have
some bottles of his own honey for sale.  Weather permitting, the
owners of Honey House Apothecary of Ebensburg may also
attend with their beeswax-infused products.  
 

March 9: 6 p.m., Saltsburg Borough Building, the topic is
garden
roses by Carla Eichmann


April 13: 6 p.m., Saltsburg Borough Building, planning for Canal
Days

May 11 and additional dates in May: Plant digs at various
member's homes to provide plants for the Canal Days sale

June 1
, 2, and 3:  30th Annual Canal Days; visit us behind the
Becky Hadden Museum for unique and interesting annuals and
perennials, herb products, hand-knitted wash cloths, stepping
stones, and additional items TBA.   The hours are Friday, June
1, 5
p.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, June
2, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, June 3,
11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Late June: Greensburg Garden Tour; members carpool to the sites

Other summer events will be posted as they are planned.

July
: Visit to the Hunt Institute and Phipps Conservatory in
Pittsburgh

Aug 10: 6 p.m., planning for annual tea; meeting location TBA

September 7: 6 p.m, Saltsburg Borough Building. Plans for the
October
Victorian Tea will be finalized.  

Oct:  Date TBA, Fourth Annual Tea; Victorian buffet;
entertainment TBA

Nov 9: 6 p.m., Saltsburg Borough Building.  Activity:  Create tree
decorations for the Herb Society's Christmas tree on the Canal.  

First Saturday in December,
December 1: Tree decorating
on the Canal

Dec 7:
Members' Christmas Tea,
location and time TBA
